I'm going to bite my tongue off I think. People are people are
people. There are fields where I've been more knowledgeable than the
actual experts and with it being a private matter I won't go into much
detail other than the unnerving feeling of sitting across from
neurologists, orthopedists, geneticists, surgeons, anesthesiologists,
you name it. And you know what? As I sat there through those appts. with
a newborn baby on my lap they were asking me the questions. The experts
were looking to me for answers. Never would I disrespect these people
as their credentials speak for themselves, but in those moments the
realization that we're all human became an undeniable fact. Scary! We
are people and we are prone to make mistakes and be wrong. None of us
are infallible.
Believe it or not I became
interested in
Bigfoot long before I knew there were other people interested in
Bigfoot. It was a private affair and I liked considering all the
different aspects in my mind. It was an escape from humans and no
different, I assumed, than my fascination for sharks, lions, tigers or
any other wild animal. After all, no one had ever scolded me for having
an interest in those things.
Then, I find this abundance of Bigfoot
info and so many lovely people that share in this interest. I've met
some very nice people. The majority are caring and more than willing to
guide you in the right direction and offer any sort of help you may
need. So, I dive right in assuming it's free and open to all. Here, I
find out there is a 'Seniority Rules' system long in place. I'm not sure
the levels and I'm not sure how you progress. I've decided I don't want
to know. Suddenly, here in this community, we're not all people. We're
hoaxers, fame seekers, name makers,
story tellers, ego strokers, money grubbers and bullies. Well, not all
of us.
I do not like to put people down or disrespect anyone, but the Bigfoot
community needs to erase their lines. In the last month I've noted that
newcomers have fallen under attack and have been made to feel a little
unwelcome. For a little bit I felt the need to defend myself and prove I
wasn't trying to make a name for myself or win a popularity contest. I
no longer feel that need. Like I said, I mean no disrespect but I am a
grown woman capable of making my own decisions. At this point I don't
care who the initial postings were meant for, I'm offended.
In closing I'll say that I have nothing to prove to anyone and I'll continue on and I'll be damned if I wait for someone to approve my right to have an interest in any subject ever. I think it was 6th grade health class where we were taught that we decide 'how far and how fast' we want to go. They were talking about something else, but I'm going to apply those principles to as many things as possible. My decision.

And......Cut!!
